Flyers’ Rasmus Ristolainen scores OT winner vs. Red Wings

Rasmus Ristolainen scored with 26 seconds left in overtime as the Philadelphia Flyers nipped the visiting Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Tuesday.Joel Farabee had a goal and an assist for Philadelphia, which improved to 5-0-1 over its past six games. Samuel Ersson made 27 saves for the hosts.Ben Chiarot scored the only goal for Detroit, which has lost four of its past five games (1-3-1). Alex Lyon stopped 24 shots against his former team.Right before the decisive goal, Detroit’s Patrick Kane got in behind the defense and lifted a backhander that Ersson may have gotten a piece of as it sailed high.Philadelphia rushed back the other way with Morgan Frost finding a streaking Owen Tippett in front of the net. Tippett shifted to his backhand and Lyon pokechecked the puck, which sat right on the goal line before Ristolainen came charging in to knock it home.Early in overtime, Noah Cates had the puck on his stick in the slot but fumbled it and failed to record a scoring chance. About 30 seconds later, Ersson stoned Alex DeBrincat on a wrister from the right circle.
