1. Craft shows for adults and kids alike will take place this weekend.

More than 85 vendors will present items at the Spring Arts and Crafts Show held 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, March 14, inside Horizons Conference Center, 6200 State, in Saginaw Township.

Entry is $2 to check out hand-made jewelry, purses, clothing, yard art, items for children and more. Kids 10 and younger get in for free. For more information visit keepsakecollectionshows.com.

In Saginaw, check out some young crafters during the Kids Craft show and sale held 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Mid-Michigan Children's Museum, 315 W. Genesee.

2. Get ready to celebrate all things Irish as the 61st annual St. Patrick's Day Parade steps off at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, in Bay City.

The parade takes place along Center Avenue, from Park Avenue to Water Street on Bay City's East Side.

Bands set to march in the parade are Bangor Township John Glenn High School, Bay City Central High School, Bay City Western High School and Saginaw High School. A steel drum band from Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central High School also is expected to play.

The parade also is to feature music from the Midland Highlanders, the Tittabawassee Valley Fife and Drum Corps and the Celtic Blue Thunder Pipe Band, from Goderich, Ontario, Bay City's sister city.

The parade is to be led by Parade Marshal Mike Campau and St. Patrick's Day Queen Olivia Weidner, Princess Delaney Wesolek and their respective courts also are to be featured.

Organizers are asking those who attend to bring canned good for donation to this year's parade.

If so, you might want to grab tickets to Jim Henson's Dinosaur Train Live, taking place 3 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at the Temple Theatre, 203 N. Washington, in downtown Saginaw.
